Collaborative genre

Genres requiring communicative interaction between users, often with some kind of multimedia communication technology (Yates, Orlikowski, & Rennecker, 1997).

Example: 

Yates and Orlikowski (1997) studied a groupware technology that enabled collaborative writing, the products of which they labeled as a collaborative genre in their study.  Google Docs could be seen as a similar type of collaborative genre of writing.
